Yakkalla Holiday Cottage

Yakkalla Holiday Cottage is centrally located just 8 km from the Flinders Island Airport and the main township of Whitemark.

Ideally located for the birdwatcher, the bush walker, photographer, the flora/fauna enthusiast or business person, this is the place for you. Located in a quiet bush setting overlooking the spectacular Pillingers Peak, Haulands Gap and Mount Strzelecki - all you need to do is to sit back, relax and unwind!

The cottage is of modern design and planned for your comfort and relaxation by us.

Designed by our son, and then built by husband Kevin and our elder son, along with the help of local tradesmen and friends it was completed in 2007.

The cottage provides you with privacy, yet is located only 100 metres from our home.

We are proud to be able to offer you friendly and knowledgeable advice during your stay with us.

The cottage is modern and self-contained offering both a conventional and microwave oven, and all the conveniences of the home kitchen, a reverse cycle air conditioner, and open plan living/lounge area with the walls adorned with work of local artists. A sunny bay window offers a spectacular view of Pillingers Peak.

There are two bedrooms, one offering a queen size bed, the other a tri-bed (double/single bunk) which will accommodate two couples, or a couple and two singles. A ramp makes easy access to the cottage.

The shower affords a view of Haulands Gap, with the toilet and hand basin also located in the bathroom.

Relax with your favorite drink on the front deck which overlooks the Darling Range, or use the barbecue area at the rear of the cottage. A small laundry is included with a cot and highchair are also available if needed.

TARIFF:
The following rates apply: for a couple $150.00 per night with each additional person being $35.00 per night.

A complimentary bottle of locally produced Unavale Wine is given to those who stay for seven days or longer. All customers receive a sample soap from Blue Rocks Soaps, a small soap making business located here on Flinders Island. Breakfast can be made available for a small additional fee.
