These modern 1-bedroom alpine self-contained cottages are magnificently furnished. They have electric heating and cooling, kitchen, deck and barbeque with your own outdoor settings. Each bedroom offers a queen sized bed in a separate bedroom with ceiling fan, bathroom and a spacious lounge and kitchenette. DVD, TV, with a shared laundry. Both cottages have a carport adjacent to their entrance.

The cottages are only 30 metres from the river and are very secluded, with private bush tracks immediately at rear of the cottages climbing the mountain behind you through garden then into native bush to old gold diggings. Capture the views as you go of the property, Harrietville and in winter the snow capped peaks of Feathertop. This is a truly unique destination offering such variety with each changing season.

Take in the parrots as they feed nearby or watch and listen to the multitude of birds, including lyrebirds as they come down along the tracks in search of food. In the early morning or late evening, wallabies maybe sighted as they gleam green pickings around the base of the mountain.

During the day take a stroll through over five acres of landscaped gardens, walk along the river, or one of the private tracks on the mountain behind you. Or simply put your feet up and enjoy a good book and hear the mountain stream of the crystal clear Ovens River.

Its easy walking or riding to the village of Harrietville only 0.5km away, take a coffee or light meal or eat out in the evening. Walk on the many paths along the Ovens River or take a walk bike ride along the "Shared Trail to the Trout farm. There are walks and rides for ages and fitness including those up to Feather top itself.

We offer WiFi at the office, if you need washing or drying there is a shared laundry an a extra full size fridge if staying a little longer. there is a free book and large video library. And as we also live at Shady Brook we are there as required, to offer assistance or tips on things to do and see. Harrietville offers great walks, bike rides and four wheel drives for levels of experience and fitness. And the fishing is also great.

Harrietville is a mountain village, it has two hotels, a great bakery and various eateries. However if you are planning on doing meals please bring your supplies with you. Bright is only 20 minutes down the road. In winter you can get all your snow gear in Harrietville.
