Hamlet Downs King Suite has a Kingsize bed which can be separated into 2 king singles. There is a sofa in the bedroom which can be made up as a bed suitable for 1 adult or 2 small children. There is a kitchenette so it's possible to prepare your own food and a lovely verandah dining area.

Hamlet Downs is just 10 minutes from Mount Field National Park and an hour's drive from Hobart, Tasmania. We are a great stopover between Hobart and Strahan.

Nestled on 36 acres of gardens, ponds and fields, we offer this private suite with its own entrance, ensuite bathroom, dining/lounge area and kitchenette. Great views to the ponds and fields.

At extra cost, we have great breakfasts and a comprehensive dinner menu using our own seasonal produce including eggs, fruit, berries and vegetables as they become available.

Our beautiful property offers walks around the cottage and native gardens, orchards historic hop buildings and a track down to our ponds. Native fauna abounds and we are just minutes from the famous Russell Falls and the Tall Trees at the National Park. Nearby is the Styx Valley, The Maydena RailTrack RiderHub, Redlands historic Hop and whisky attraction, the Salmon Ponds and the antique centre of Tasmania, New Norfolk.

About 1 1/2 hours drive is the World Heritage Wilderness at Strathgordon. Only 45 drive is the world renowned MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). As mentioned, 1 hour away is Hobart with amongst other attractions, the Salamanca Markets (Saturday) and Mount Wellington lookout.

We suggest you hire a vehicle as public transport is minimal. The closest shop/garage is 5 minutes away as is a nice cafe next to the river. The closest town with supermarket, banks etc is New Norfolk.

Relax and enjoy the 36 acres. View the wildlife or have a cup of coffee down at the caf just 5 minutes away.
