Mandala Bruny Island

Mandala is a charming 4 bedrooms self-contained holiday home with quality furnishings, kitchenware, home entertainment and recreational gear, all ready to enjoy.
It has been tastefully decorated to provide a comfortable relaxed atmosphere, and it fits right into its private bushland setting which is also home to countless native animals, birds, trees and shrubs.
THE HOUSE
The original building (a refurbished mess hall, transported from the mainland) features a large open-plan kitchen, living area with a log stove and a big front window with stunning views over the channel and mountains beyond. It opens onto a large deck, BBQ area and outdoor seating / dining space. Inside or out, the open-plan kitchen facilities let you cook up a feast while still being part of the scene.
An old wooden stairway leads up from the living area to a balcony bedroom which overlooks the whole space - perfect for an afternoon snooze, a quiet read, or extra sleeping accommodation with a queen-size bed and single futon.
BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS
Mandala sleeps up to 11 people with two queen bedrooms, a third bedroom with a bunk and two singles, and an open loft room overlooking the living room (double bed and a single futon). The layout is spacious and well organized so it has ample capacity for smaller groups
Bedroom #1
Generous master bedroom offers bush and water views of the channel and features a queen size bed and built-in wardrobe.
Bedroom #2
Offers veranda bush views, features queen size bed, wooden chest of drawers.
Bedroom #3
Features 4-single beds with the arrangement of bunk bed and 2 singles, it's great for children, adults are welcome to use if needed.
Bedroom #4
The loft bedroom (overlooks the living), features a double bed and a single futon
There is also a laundry / 2nd bathroom with washing machine and guest toilet.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is well equipped with gas cook-top, electric fan oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge / freezer and assorted electric appliances including bread maker, blender and sandwich toaster
GAMES ROOM
The separate games shed features a table tennis (plus equipment)
LIVING AND DINING
The large living room is comfortable and cosy and has mesmerising views of the channel and the mountains beyond. A wood burning stove (wood supplied) keeps you warm in cooler weather and there is a TV, DVD and CD player. The dining is great space for family and friends to gather, the dining table can be extend to accommodate large groups and a cute children's dining table for 2.
THE GARDEN
A short flight of wide steps leads down from the deck into the landscaped garden which surrounds the house, games shed, cubby house and woodshed. It then blends seamlessly into the native bush to the sides and rear of the property.
From the front gate, a narrow path leads [-30m] down to the water's edge.
Wallabies frequently come thumping through, and wild birds are everywhere.

Mandala looks right over the historic Entrecastaux channel between Bruny Island and the Tasmanian mainland, with the impressive Hartz Mountains on the far horizon, the perfect scene for an al fresco coffee, a leisurely lunch, or a glass of local wine as the sun goes down.
Mandala is peaceful and secluded but within easy reach of local facilities and attractions: a 20-minute stroll along a well maintained walking track (or a 3 minute drive) brings you to the small township of Alonnah with its white sandy beach, boat ramp and jetty, general store, and the only hotel on the island.
The abundant attractions of Bruny Island including beaches, bush walks, wild cliffs, historic sites, artisanal food and wine producers, and the famous eco-cruise are also just a short drive away.
