High Peaks Cottages is set in the serene Tanjil Valley at the base of the Baw Baw foot hills in West Gippsland, only a one and a half hour drive from Melbourne and a short 45 minute drive to Mount Baw Baw Alpine Resort.

With spectacular mountain views, relax on the deck or alfresco areas and enjoy a glass of local wine surrounded by native birds and wildlife. During those icy cold winter months just sit in front of the wood fired heater watching the snow fall on Mount Baw Baw.

IRON BARK COTTAGE
This Cottage is an open plan layout and ideal for a couple to getaway for a few nights of relaxation.

This cottage has a wood fired heater, gas heating, ceiling fans, dining table, 47 inch LCD television and DVD player, outdoor undercover alfresco area with two burner barbecue.

The cottage features a queen size bed.

The kitchen has an oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven and gas hotplate with wok burner.

All linen is provided.

TRAIL WALKING AND HIKING
With dozens of sign posted walking trails throughout the property each with varying levels of difficulty.
You can enjoy those early morning short walks or select one of the more difficult trails and get
that heart racing.

FISHING
All forms of trout fishing down by the river are available and are a great way to pass the time.
Or try your luck in the trout stocked dam for an easier catch.
(You need to supply your own fishing tackle and hold a
Current Victorian Fishing Licence.
(NO licence is required to fish from the dam.)

KAYAKING, CANOEING, SWIMMING AND MORE FISHING
With Blue Rock Lake only 10 minutes away, enjoy hours of fun on

WINTER SNOW FUN
This is the time of year when the Mt Baw Baw comes alive !
During the winter months enjoy all kinds of snow activites at Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort.
With over 35 hectares of groomed runs, seven ski lifts, two snow play areas, 10kms of
groomed x-country ski trails & unlimited terrain amongst the snowgums to explore, you will
be hard pressed to find a better outdoor venue so close to Melbourne.
Travel time from High Peaks Cottages to Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort can be anywhere
from 45 minutes to an hour depending on road conditions.

They will pick up from your cottage and deliver you to Mt Baw Baw for a great day of
snow activities and return you back safely at the end of the day.

GOLD FOSSICKING AND PROSPECTING
The High Peaks property has a colourful history dating back to the late 1800's when gold was first
discovered in the Tanjil River and surrounding gullies.
Try your luck panning the river, or if you own a Gold Detector bring it along, you never know your luck.

BIRD WATCHING AND LOCAL WILDLIFE
With an amazing abundance of wildlife and birds, the property is an ornithologists paradise.
During the winter months you can see wild deer, wallabies, wombats, sugar gliders, and owls.

During the summer months, giant Lace monitor lizards around 6 feet in length are not uncommon.
