Kingston is located 12 km south of Hobart thats about 10 minutes by car. A bus stop at the door of The Esplanade apartment provides easy public transport access to Hobart and surrounds.

If you dont want to venture far, The Esplanade is a short stroll away from cafes and shops. Only a two minute drive away you'll find supermarkets and other shops in the centre of Kingston.

If you feel like making day trips, The Esplanade is the ideal base to tour Tasmania's stunning southern regions, including the Huon/Channel area. The nearby township of Margate has the Margate Train (very popular with antique collectors), and you can also drive through the delightfully named Snug on your way to stunning waterside Kettering, where you can catch the Bruny Island ferry. While you're on Bruny Island visit the penguin rookeries on the Neck, The Bruny Island Cheese Factory, and the HIBA gardens and Fudge Factory

Venture further into the Far South to find picturesque coastal townships, mountains and forests of the South-West National Park

Golfers, you'll be happy to find you're close to two golf clubs: Kingston Golf Club and the Northwest Bay Golf Club.

Hobart is only 10 minutes drive away. Every Saturday morning you can take part in the Salamanca Market festival atmosphere, buy fabulous local produce and talk to craftspeople and artisans about their products. Depending on the time of year, you can enjoy waterfront attractions such as the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, the Wooden Boat Festival, The Taste of Tasmania and MOFO Music and Arts Festival.

Take a drive up Mount Wellington to see an incredible vista down over Hobart over the River Derwent and to the north and east. Dont miss the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). Its caused a huge splash in the international art scene with visitors coming from all over the world. It will take about 30 minutes by car to get there from The Esplanade.
