ACCOMMODATION WITH AN EDGE
Up Cycled from decommissioned shipping containers, the Coastal Pods Wynyard, offer a unique take on self-contained accommodation. Situated on the banks of the Inglis River in North West Tasmania, sun fills these unique luxury escape pods, offering a seaside sanctuary from which to while away some down time. Each architecturally designed pod has been lovingly constructed and styled to provide maximum comfort and energy efficiency, whilst retaining a design nod to the industrial beach foundation of the development. The styling influence is beach industrial chic (Yes Im forging a new style!), with an eye to embrace opportunities for recycling and repurposing of found object into pieces of beauty and sustainable functionality.

DESIGN:
Inspired by a trip to Christchurch New Zealand, the owners of the Waterfront Wynyard, Cyndia Hilliger and Justin McErlain were keen to utilise shipping containers in a unique way to add to their existing motel accommodation pool. Each Coastal Pod, named after seafaring terms of Starboard and Port, has been set up as a self-contained unit, complete with kitchen, laundry and two king size bedrooms with ensuite and master bathroom facilities. An intimate reading nook with full sized picture windows gives you a private reading sanctuary bathed in northern sunshine. The lounge opens on to the enormous north facing deck, with all the river precinct views you can handle. Watch the fishing boats unload their catch, as sailboats navigate the river tides. The Pods provide the ultimate in contemporary self-contained accommodation with each pod containing two bedrooms, lounge/dining area, galley kitchen, reading nook and laundry. However its all the little luxuries that really make a stay at Coast Pods an experience to remember, the soaring central atrium, the huge glass and container doors that open onto the deck and connect you with a view out over the river precinct. These are just a taste of whats in store to make your stay something special.

So curl up on the daybed with a good book, share a story or two around the outdoor fire pit, soak in the magnificent river view or explore the North West region the choice is yours.

IN MORE DETAILS:
The master bedroom is equipped with a rain shower ensuite, TV and private deck area and the second bedroom with separate master luxury wet area bathroom with rain shower and handheld jet shower plus heated towel rails. Each pod has a luxury main bathroom area one with imported sustainably sourced teak shower bench & double vanities the other with large bath and rain shower. Each bedroom has king-sized beds with fluffy toppers, electric blankets and king sized pillows / one bed can be split into king singles for twin configuration.

The ample lounge/dining areas are luxuriously furnished with seating for up to 6 people. Adjoined by the galley kitchen cooking facilities with all the facilities you will need to make everything a breeze (I mean who wants to do the dishes when you're on holidays anyway?). The remote-controlled opening windows in the atrium can be opened to adjust temperature flow and maximise thermal properties of the design, minimising need for power generated heating and cooling or via the heat pump if you prefer.

A guest favourite the reading nook has floor to ceiling bookcases filled with a literary goldmine of good reads, day bed and huge picture windows to soak in the afternoon rays reading a good book, with enough room for a glass of wine, or two within easy access

LOCATION:
The coastal pods form part of the Waterfront Wynyard Motel area, located on the delightful Inglis River. As such, pod guests are welcome to come down to the guest lounge to enjoy light meals and beverages in the bar area. The coastal pods are within an easy walk to town, restaurants, cafes, newsagency, post office and supermarket.

Wynyard is centrally located to many key attractions in the area, including 45 minutes to the historic town of Stanley, 2.5 hours to Strahan and 1.5 hours to Cradle Mountain. All are easy driving day trips, which makes Wynyard the perfect point for a thorough exploration of the area.
